SAWDUST 2008 WINTER FANTASY ENCOURAGES VISITORS TO GIVE BACK

(2008 Winter Fantasy runs four weekends: November 22 – December 14)

Laguna Beach, Ca – The 2008 Winter Fantasy, Season of Dreams, is holding special holiday events this holiday season encouraging visitors to give back to the community. Toys for Tots – On November 28, 29 & 30 and December 6 & 7, the Toys for Tots foundation, supported by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, will provide Sawdust visitors the opportunity to donate Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. A free day pass is offered to visitors bringing in a brand new unwrapped toy for children,
newborn to age 17, to the Sawdust Box Office. Make your contributions this holiday season and also meet U.S. Marines on the festival grounds. One Warm Coat – On December 6, 7, 13 & 14, the Winter Fantasy will collaborate with local Girl Scout Troup 575 in a coat drive for the One Warm Coat organization. Girl Scouts of Laguna Beach have collected over 1,200 coats to people in need over the past five years. The Sawdust is offering a free day pass to guests bringing in one freshly laundered and gently worn coat for men, women and children in all sizes to the
Sawdust Box Office. Coats will be donated to the Laguna Beach Resource Center and South County Outreach. ArtisTree Ornament Fundraiser – 2008 Winter Fantasy exhibitors have kindly donated unique handcrafted ornaments to the Sawdust ArtisTree as part of the ArtisTree Ornament Fundraiser. Visitors can make their contributions to the Sawdust’s Art Education Fund by purchasing these handmade ornaments, displayed in the center of “Towne Square,” at the Information Booth during any of the show dates. All funds raised
from ArtisTree ornament sales will contribute directly to the Art Education Fund. Artists who donated ornaments include:

• Sandra Kobrin – Small figurine ornaments made from natural fiber
• Sue Linder – Holiday ornaments made from painted metal cutouts
• Barbara Nei – Holiday ornaments made from mixed media
• Todd Nelson – Holiday star ornaments made from fused glass
• Rosemarie Rossi – Holiday gourd doll ornaments
• Suzette Rosenthal – Holiday ornaments using mixed media
• Anne Sanregret – Miniature old world Santas
• Linda Smith – Fused glass star ornaments
• Kristen Thompson – Polymer clay sea life ornaments

The 18th Annual Winter Fantasy at the Sawdust Art Festival runs for four weekends: November 22 & 23, November 28, 29 & 30, December 6 & 7 and December 13 & 14. Hours are 10 am – 6 pm. Adult admission is $6; Seniors $5, age 65 and up; $3 for children age 6-12; children under five years of age are free; and $9 for a Season Pass.
