SAWDUST ART FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES WINNERS OF THE 1ST VISITORS’ CHOICE AWARDS

(Winners of the awards were announced Thursday, July 10 at 7 p.m.)

Laguna Beach, Ca – On July 10 the 2008 Summer Committee at the Sawdust Art Festival hosted the first ever Visitors’ Choice Awards. This year, Sawdust members had the chance to hear from visitors and learn what guests enjoyed most about the unique summer show. Since its June 27 Opening Night the Sawdust Art Festival collected Visitors’ Choice ballots everyday from its visitors. After two weeks of casting votes, guests’ submissions were tallied up and the winners were officially announced on the Main Entertainment Deck at 7 p.m. Thursday evening.

The results of the Visitors’ Choice Awards:
• Best Booth Design, Interior – Missy Belland, Booth 234
• Best Booth Design, Exterior – Suzanne Esko & Ora Sterling, Booth 319
• Favorite Artist – four-way tie
o Bruce Freund, Booth 331
o Patti Klingenmeier, Booth 124
o Doug Miller, Booth 310
o Julie Setterholm, Booth 417
• Favorite Festival Feature – Grounds
(Choices were Classes, Demonstrations, Entertainment & Grounds)

The Sawdust Art Festival is located at 935 Laguna Canyon Road in Laguna Beach. 2008 show dates are now through August 31; Open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. Adult admission is $7; Seniors $6 age 65 and up; $3 Children age 6-12; Free children under five years of age.
