SAWDUST RECEIVES $5,000 GRANT
FROM LAGUNA BEACH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
Laguna Beach, CA – The Sawdust Art Festival is a recent recipient of a $5,000 grant from the Laguna Beach Community Foundation. The award was presented to Board Member Susan Wade and Sawdust Art Education Fund Member Jan Sattler, and upon acceptance, both these local artists outlined the 46 year-old art show’s plans to use the funds to broaden their growing year-round art education programs.
The generous donation will be used to purchase equipment and construct a new multi-purpose room on the long-running art show’s grounds. Susan Wade expressed her appreciation of receiving the gift, “On behalf of the Sawdust Art Festival, I wish to thank the Laguna Community Foundation for their generous support of our educational programs. The stated purposes of the Sawdust art Festival is to ‘provide the general public the opportunity to enjoy and appreciate the arts.’ Our very popular Ceramics program allows the public to experience a ‘hands on’ appreciation of the art of ceramics. This grant will allow us to expand a proven program so that we can offer a wider variety of ceramics classes to the public.”
