Sawdust Studio Art Classes Wins “Best New Arts Program” at 6th Annual Art Stars AwardsPress Releases
Laguna Beach, CA – Sawdust Art Festival and the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau (LBVCB) are thrilled about the results from last Sunday’s 6th Annual Art Stars Awards ceremony hosted by the Laguna Beach Alliance of the Arts. The collaborative team was awarded “Best New Arts Program” at the event that took place at [Seven-Degrees], after completing their first year of year-round classes. The Sawdust Art Festival and LBVCB have had the great opportunity to collaborate on the creation of the Sawdust Studio Art Classes, allowing many talented Laguna artists to educate the public on how to create their own “masterpieces” in just two hours. Workshops in jewelery, ceramics, glass, painting and more art media, are offered year-round every Friday and Saturday on the Sawdust grounds, allowing not only students in local and surrounding cities, but also visiting tourists, to experience a real taste of what it's like to be an artist. The studio classes encourage creative growth for individuals, and also help to build relationships within teams and groups. In just over one year, hundreds of students have already had the opportunity to experience the magic of the Sawdust Studio, creating their own pieces to take home, to wear and to share. “Sharing this recognition for the Studio Art Classes with the Sawdust Art Festival team, and seeing them recognized for all of their work, is a wonderful way to reinforce the importance of the program with regard to art education and art appreciation,” said Judy Bijlani, President & CEO of LBVCB. She continued, “Visitors return home with the all-important message, ‘I made it in Laguna Beach,’ underscoring the importance of our seaside town as an artists’ village. The program educates not only the person taking the class but all of those seeing the outcome of their work for years to come, and gives the visitor an interactive experience and submersion into the culture of Laguna Beach.” About the Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau Laguna Beach Visitors & Conference Bureau is located at 361 Forest Avenue, Suite 200 with its Visitors Center at 381 Forest Ave. in the Coast Sotheby's International Realty office.
